In 2006 the PGA tour implemented a playoff point system with the year end winner receiving The FedEx Cup. Hi-Def Pictures was called upon to shoot the promos for this new era in golf. We employed our Panasonic Varicam fitted with a 35mm film adapter and an Angenieux Optimo 24-290mm lens. This enabled us to shoot from a long distance with a minimum depth of field. With a heavy duty tripod, the entire camera weighed in at a whopping 150 pounds. Combined with Tiger’s huge crowds, it was challenging to make our way around the course.
